What You’d Be Doing
To date, Mockingbird has built a solid TikTok presence with an audience larger than most baby gear brands and now we’re looking for a creator and personality to expand our footprint even further. We’re looking to continue to connect with modern parents by driving brand & product awareness and interest through thumbstopping, engaging, relatable, and helpful TikTok content.
As the TikTok Content Creator, your job would be to bring our refreshed TikTok strategy to life with a new zest and candor as well as lead all of our TikTok creation efforts. More specifically you would:
- Review TikTok strategy, and provide a POV on any recommended adjustments or additions
- Work with our Social Media Manager to further develop the brand’s TikTok persona and how it can be brought to life through our different content pillars
- Develop a monthly TikTok content calendar, aligning with TikTok strategy, topics as well as evergreen and cultural/trending moments
- Anticipating around 20 posts per month, including 10 pre-planned and 10-15 trending/in the moment videos. Exact number of posts may vary month to month depending on opportunities that come up that month.
- Create all TT content, including recording photos/videos, leveraging UGC when relevant, editing photo/video as needed, writing captions, and showcasing yourself in most of, if not all of, the content (think influencer-esque, talking directly to the camera!)
- Monitor XYZ – about monitoring for trends to jump in on
- Craft ad-hoc TT content as needed based on cross-functional business initiatives
- Post all content to TT in a timely manner, aligned with content calendar
- Manage and update TT profile, including link in bio and playlists
- Review monthly TT reporting metrics based on our KPIs, and implement actionable insights & recommendations
What We’ll Be Looking For
- A proven content creator who has previously created TikTok content (videos and captions) for either a B2C brand or successfully developed their own social following, with direct, hands on experience throughout the entire content creation process
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of TikTok’s capabilities and features consumers use, including how to stay relevant with trends and optimize for the algorithm
- Someone who is both a creative thinker (can create impactful, thumb stopping content from scratch), and data-driven (understands how/when to adjust your approach based on results)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal -- strollers are complicated, and you need to be able to break all the details down for researching parents!
- Organized with high attention to detail, and fluent in what goes in to an efficient & effective content creation workflows
- Ability to showcase work either through a portfolio (link or pdf format) or social post links
Nice to Haves
- Professional photography and/or videography skills with professional equipment and editing software
- Previous experience marketing to parents
- Previous experience creating content for a DTC brand
- Built out a TikTok audience for your own personal brand
