Who We Are

Mockingbird is a DTC-first baby gear brand known for understanding today’s parents, creating thoughtfully designed products, and providing above & beyond customer service. In a sea of old school baby brands, we’re proud to stand out, offering families not just better products but also a better overall experience.

Our flagship product is our Single-to-Double Stroller, an everyday stroller that offers unparalleled flexibility, and can be paired with our complimentary stroller accessories. After years of innovative design & engineering and in-depth consumer testing, we launched our second major product, the 2-in-1 High Chair, which rapidly became one of the most popular high chairs on the market. Our vision is for families to be able to rely on Mockingbird through parenting stages and milestones – from newborn to toddler to child, from first strolls to first food and more – a brand parents could never imagine living without.

While humility is in our team’s DNA, we feel extremely proud of how much parents and top baby gear experts alike praise our products. We’ve received over 10,000 5-star customer reviews, we’ve been honored with awards & recommendations from the likes of Wirecutter, Forbes, and Babylist, and we hear from Mockingbird families every day how much our products mean to them (we actually have a whole Slack channel that’s just screenshots like this, this, and this)!

As a team, we’re scrappy, independent, and entrepreneurial, while also being strategic, methodical, and highly collaborative. We’re extremely thoughtful, caring, and supportive of our customers, and perhaps even more so of each other. We’re thrilled with how far Mockingbird has already come, but we’re invigorated by the thought of how much room we still have to grow. And that's where you come in…

What You’d Be Doing

As the Creative Coordinator Contractor, your primary responsibility would be to help create new paid social content ideas, editing existing video footage and photos into new concepts, to help us accelerate the volume of new paid social ads we’re creating and testing on a weekly basis. Additionally, you’d be supporting the overall content creation process, which would include brief development, caption writing, identifying UGC to test for paid ads, and general project management.

This part-time role would be billed hourly, with an estimated commitment of 15-20 hours per week.

More specifically, you would:

  • Create paid social content – at first this would be driven by briefs provided by the creative/paid teams, but the goal would be for you to eventually take the lead on crafting the briefs once you have a strong understanding of the Mockingbird creative process and approach.
    • The expectation is that you would create this content using our extensive library of existing photo and video assets (no need to capture new footage).
    • We would anticipate a range of 3-5 briefs per week, with some brief including 2-3 variations of the same concept
  • Edit influencer and organic UGC images and videos to get them ready for whitelisting, including making additional variations of the content to maximize its impact on ads, and adjusting to additional specs as needed
  • Write paid social ad captions grounded in insights and direction from the paid team
  • Regularly monitor organic UGC content being posted about Mockingbird, and recommend new content for paid ads
  • Recommend net new ad concepts based on Mockingbird’s content library
  • Project manage the overall paid ad creative process including regular communication with internal and external team members, ensuring the process is running smoothly and we’re hitting our creative development goals
  • Monitor what other DTC brands are doing across paid and organic, surfacing inspiration that Mockingbird should consider for new ad concepts
  • Take part in creative performance meetings and team brainstorms

What We’ll Be Looking For

  • A proven content creator who has previously created social content (paid and/or organic) for a B2C brand, with direct, hands on experience of the content editing process
  • In-depth knowledge of both Instagram and TikTok from a marketing/creator lens, and knows how to keep a pulse on what’s trending on both platforms
  • Experienced in using social editing tools like CapCut and Edits
  • Ability to put yourself in the shoes of the target consumer and translate that into a relatable marketing message
  • Strong communication and copywriting skills – baby gear is complicated, and you need to be able to create content for parents in a way that’s both relatable and digestible!
  • Someone who is both a creative thinker (can create impactful, thumb stopping content), and data-driven (understands how to adjust your approach based on results)
  • Organized with high attention to detail
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
